Brief
Design a high-signal operational interface for a fictional dispatch team that needs to spot risky routes, understand the cause and act without losing context.
The challenge
Dense operational tools can overwhelm users with equal-priority data. The concept needed to create clear urgency, preserve route context and make the recommended action explicit.
Strategic principles
- Separate monitoring signals from items requiring action
- Use colour as a status aid rather than the only carrier of meaning
- Keep route context visible while reviewing risk
- Make resolution a short, reversible interaction
Design decisions
Every visual choice has a job.
Context before action
The map, route list and alert share the same operational state so a dispatcher can understand why intervention is needed.
Visible resolution
The reroute control updates the alert state immediately, demonstrating feedback without requiring a separate workflow.
